Desert Storm commander Norman Schwarzkopf dies at 78 – “Stormin’ Norman”

Posted by devildog6771 on December 30, 2012

Desert Storm commander Norman Schwarzkopf dies at 78. Many,  including me knew him as ” stormin’ Norman'” a name he did not particularly care for. At a time when many of leaders, military and otherwise are surrounded by scandal, General Norman Schwarzkopf managed to stay above the fray. He died as a true American Hero! I for one wonder if we will ever see his type again.  The General was  highly decorated Vietnam Veteran and he led the successful American military action to remove Saddam from Kuwait. in the first Persian Gulf War in 1990. General Schwarzkopf will be remembered by many for his daily news reports on”OPeration Desert Storm in 1991.”  Schwarzkopf  also was a very active spokesperson in the fight against “prostate cancer” after he was diagnosed with the disease in 1993.

RIP General Schwarzkopf. Thank you for a job well done and thank you and you family for your lifelong service to our country. You will be missed and have left a large void in our nation’s military leadership!
